Release history and version notes for all Audio Splitter products

Audio Splitter Max™

Desktop App macOS

v1.4.0

March 26, 2026 Latest

New Features

  • Dual channel input (Ch1 / Ch2) — Connect two Helper extensions simultaneously (e.g. Chrome + Chrome Canary) for two independent stereo audio sources
  • Per-device channel selector — Each output device can choose Ch1, Ch2, or mixed mode (L=Ch1 R=Ch2, L=Ch2 R=Ch1)
  • Separate master volume per channel — Independent volume sliders and level meters for Ch1 and Ch2 inputs
  • Channel preference in Helper — Helper extension can request a specific channel (Ch1 or Ch2) on connect

Improvements

  • Source bar shows tab hostname — Displays the captured tab's hostname (e.g. youtube.com) instead of “Unknown tab”
  • Single AudioContext for both channels — Eliminates clock drift noise when two Helpers are connected

v1.3.0

March 20, 2026 Previous

New Features

  • Skin system — Switch between visual themes via View → Skin. Three light skins included: Sakura, Ocean, and Mint. Preference is saved across sessions
  • 6 new visualizer plugins — Taiko, Rock Frets, Block Drop, Anime Pop, Karaoke Voice, and Pixel Runner
  • Plugin remote updates — Check for new or updated visualizer plugins from the Help menu. Downloads from the official plugin manifest

Improvements

  • Arrow key plugin switching — Press Up/Down arrow keys in the visualizer window to cycle through plugins
  • Keyboard controls in game plugins — Block Drop supports Left/Right/Down/Space; Pixel Runner and Voxel World support Arrow keys and Space
  • Renamed plugins for legal safety — Guitar Hero → Rock Frets, Super Mario → Pixel Runner, Minecraft → Voxel World

v1.2.3

March 19, 2026

Improvements

  • Text size setting — View → Text Size menu with Small, Medium, and Large options. Preference is saved across sessions
  • Moved Start/Stop & Refresh buttons — Action buttons now sit below the INPUT meter, always visible regardless of how many output devices are listed
  • Dynamic-width visualizer — Spectrum bars now use logarithmic frequency scaling, spreading evenly across the full width for a more natural display
  • Removed Helper Extension Folder — Cleaned up File menu by removing the unused "Open Helper Extension Folder" item

Bug Fixes

  • Text Size menu radio check — Fixed radio button not reflecting the selected text size in the View menu

v1.2.2

March 19, 2026

Improvements

  • Timeout guards on audio operations — getUserMedia, AudioContext creation, and output device routing now have 5-second timeouts to prevent the app from freezing if an audio device stalls or becomes unresponsive

v1.2.1

March 19, 2026 Previous

New Features

  • 96kHz Hi-Res Audio Support (Pro) — Full high sample rate support for both input and output. Capture from virtual devices (BlackHole) at up to 96kHz, and configure each output device independently at 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, or 96kHz. Ideal for wired DACs, audio interfaces, and virtual routing to DAWs. Bluetooth outputs default to 48kHz for maximum compatibility.
  • Input sample rate selector — Choose between Auto, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, or 96kHz for virtual device capture. The actual capture rate depends on your virtual audio device’s configuration in Audio MIDI Setup.
  • Per-device output sample rate — Each output device now has its own sample rate dropdown. Set wired outputs to 96kHz for hi-res playback while keeping Bluetooth devices at 48kHz — all from the same session.
  • Sample rate display — Input label shows the actual capture rate; each output device displays its configured rate.

Improvements

  • Visualizer pin button moved to top-right corner (consistent with main window)
  • Visualizer no longer shows Master Input — only output devices are displayed
  • Dynamic-width frequency bars in Full Spectrum and Rainbow Bars modes — bars expand to fill the full width based on active frequency content
  • High sample rates (88.2kHz, 96kHz) gated behind Pro license

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed virtual device capture producing silence when audio constraints were missing
  • Fixed output silence when input captured at 96kHz — outputs now independently control their sample rate instead of inheriting the input rate
  • Restored original audio capture constraints (channelCount, autoGainControl, noiseSuppression, echoCancellation)
