My IP Address does not collect any personal information. The extension operates entirely within your browser.

How the Extension Works

When you click the extension icon, it performs two types of IP lookups:

Global IP: Your browser makes direct requests to public IP lookup services (ipapi.co, ipify.org, ip.sb) to retrieve your public IP address and optional location information.
Local IP: The extension uses WebRTC (a browser API) to detect your local/private network IP addresses. This happens entirely within your browser.

Third-Party Services

The extension contacts the following third-party services to retrieve your public IP:

ipapi.co - Primary IP lookup service
ipify.org - Fallback IP lookup service
ip.sb - Secondary fallback service

These services may have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns about how they handle IP lookup requests.

Data Storage

My IP Address does not store any data:

No cookies are set
No local storage is used
No browsing history is accessed
No data is sent to our servers

Permissions

This extension requires no special permissions. It only needs basic network access to fetch your IP address from public services.
